Well, the teens are out of school and another exhausting summer begins for those in youth work.

First, be watching for massive spiritual maturity this summer. The day in and day out details can be overwhelming and often overshadow the spiritual strides being made.

Second, pray for each teen daily. Physically get on your knees and talk to God about each teen by name. By the end of July the teen you would normally be ready to throttle will become a blessing.

Third, keep a video journal. Tape the teens throughout the summer and have a summer review party at the end to relive where you've been and what you've done.

We know you are going to be busy while accomplishing a lot for the kingdom during the next couple of months. If you would like Al and I to pray for you and your group just email tlm@teenlifeministries.com with "prayer request" in the subject line. We will pray everyday all summer for you.

Have a BLESSED week!

Paul & Al

Tip of the Week

Towards the end is a scene where Shrek and Donkey meet up again after their falling out - Donkey is starting to build a wall to divide the swamp. They argue, and Shrek asks why Donkey came back. Donkey replies, 'That's what friends do - they forgive each other.' When Shrek discovers Donkey has information about the Princess, he says sorry, but is insincere. He then realizes that he needs to apologize truly, and admit he really is a 'stupid, smelly Ogre' - and the friendship is restored.

A good introduction to a discussion about friendship, and how important forgiveness and saying "sorry" is in a relationship. It can also be an opener for a discussion on true repentance - where we come to agreement with God about our sins and failures, and how this opens the way to a real genuine relationship with Him.
